The Challenges
Ensuring accurate, independent & scalable age verification at National Scale
The national youth programme faced the challenge of establishing a fair, independent and scalable age-verification process for 3,000+ candidates across 40+ state and regional associations spanning five zones. Self-certification and association-level checks lacked independent credibility, while traditional biological methods such as bone-age testing were unreliable and could be influenced by nutrition, supplements and intensive training.
Balancing document fraud, zone wise coverage complexity with accuracy and speed
Birth certificate fraud and inconsistent records—such as QR codes leading to phishing pages, missing CRS portal entries and mismatches with state registries—made document verification challenging, while differing infrastructure across Northern, Western, Eastern, Central and Southern zones added complexity to ensuring a consistent verification process nationwide.
The programme therefore needed a standardised, third-party verification framework that could deliver accuracy, consistency and audit-readiness at scale, without compromising the tight timelines of the selection cycle.

Working alongside the client's association and verification authority network, Securitas India designed and implemented a structured, mandatory, third-party age-verification programme — moving decisively away from unreliable bone-density testing and evolving into a rigorous, document-and-registry-based verification process.

Multi-Source Verification Framework:
Every candidate's date of birth was cross-checked against the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal, state birth registration websites and QR-code certificate authentication.

Zone-Wise Governance & Tracking:
Verification was structured and monitored across all five cricket zones, covering every state and union territory association reporting into the client.

Fraud Pattern Escalation
Cases that could not be verified were escalated and logged as 'Red Cases' with the specific reason documented, giving the client a transparent audit trail.

Category-Wise Segmentation:
Cases were tracked separately by gender and by Under-16, Under-19 and Under-23 categories to ensure category-specific reporting accuracy.
Conclusion
3,185 verifications completed. 71 fraud patterns caught. One national standard for fairness now in place — and it's built to scale to the next season, the next zone, the next candidate, without missing a beat.
